The tool preserves the source dimensions while converting the pixels to WebP. JPG and GIF inputs are rendered onto a canvas with a white background when needed before WebP encoding.
Use the output for web and storage
WebP can be useful when a compatible website or application accepts the format and you want smaller image assets. Always confirm the destination supports WebP before replacing a source image.
The comparison reports the actual output size. A WebP result is not guaranteed to be smaller for every image or every quality setting, particularly when the original is already efficiently compressed.
Private local conversion
Conversion occurs in the browser and the source image does not need to be sent to a My Karya Kit processing server. Keep the original when exact source fidelity or metadata is important.
